If you are ever in Seattle, I highly recommend checking out Pike's Place Market. There are so many different items to goods to discover, both useful and decorative. There are artists and musicians everywhere, beautiful flower arrangements, fresh local produce, delicious food, the first Starbucks and even guys throwing fish. Pike's Place Market is an extraordinary experience.

One of my favorite places in the world. I still wish that lived there. I was stationed there in Bremerton for two years back in the early 90's and have been back twice since. Seattle is wonderful. Hopefully I will be back as my daughter is moving up there in June.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
How exciting! My dad was stationed near Tacoma when he was in the service during Vietnam, he has all kinds of stories to tell about that time. That is awesome you still get to visit and that your daughter is moving here. It really is an amazing place, I'm so glad we found it. Thanks for stopping by and sharing! ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! It is a fun place to explore. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI've never been to this market but have seen many photos and videos. I can only imagine how fabulous it would be!
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty cool. Really busy in the summer months, but that's also when there are the most vendors and performers around. The atmosphere is lots of fun, like a festival everyday. Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing! Have a great week!
DeleteGuys throwing fish, cool, I just saw that on a TV show. I love the sign with the blue sky behind it. But are you sure you're in Seattle, you did mention sunshine didn't you.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it is one of the highlights of the market. I do love the backdrop of the Puget Sound. And yes, amazingly enough we do get sun...sometimes. I'm so ready for spring, the cold and rain are starting to wear on me. Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing! Hope you have a great week :)
DeleteThat looks like a great place. I saw fish tossing on a tv show, I had no idea it really happened.
ReplyDeleteThe fish throwing absolutely happens, often if people are buying. I haven't seen anyone drop one yet either. It is one of the big features, right in the heart of the market. The fish is extremely fresh too, some caught just that morning. Many local restaurants get their fish from them too, I don't think they throw it to them though, lol. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!
DeleteThis is an interesting to visit. Lots of things to see and buy!
ReplyDeleteAlmost more than you can do in one day. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!
DeleteI've never been to Seattle but I do love those local markets! I'm happy you visited my blog and introduced me to yours! Love it!
ReplyDeleteAll local markets have fun, exciting things. This one is permanent, but there are several around that are local farmers and crafters that are excellent to visit too. Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great week :)
DeleteI love local markets! We didn't get to visit the Pike's Place Market the last couple of times we passed through Washington state. Hopefully next time...
ReplyDeleteIt is worth the visit! There are so many good local markets though, they all have their own charm.
DeleteThanks for stopping by! Have a great week!
Amanda,
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a charming place with a lot of personality and no doubt filled with lots of atmosphere. Places like this are just cool to visit! Thanks for stopping by and linking up. Have a good weekend! ;)
Yes, every time I go there is something new to see - like a person in a cat mask playing accordion! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!
DeleteI love these historic kinds of markets. I would love to enjoy a coffee here (OK, and some yummy pastries, too).
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely a historical one. Some of the paths used to be used specifically for horses. And there is a legend of a haunted restaurant where the morgue used to be. Still, it is a very happy place, great for coffee!
DeleteThanks for stopping by, have a great week!
I hope to visit Seattle some day... Looks like great! Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend it, especially in the summer. There are all kinds of things to do. I didn't visit until we moved here when my husband got a new job, I was pleasantly surprised by how much we love it here.

Sounds like a very interesting place. My husband happened to visit it a few years back and ever since I've been wanting to go there too, having heard so much about it. Well, someday, hopefully!
ReplyDeleteIt is worth the trip, there is so much to do in the city and surrounding areas. Even just seeing the Seattle Space Needle is an adventure in itself. Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!
DeleteWe only visited Seattle once in our lives (1988) and stumbled across this market purely by accident. How wonderful it was! I would love to go back one day.
ReplyDeleteI imagine it has changed greatly since then. They have been working to build it up even more these past few years. It is still a wonderful place though! Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!
