One of our favorite past times is playing games...board games, card games, and video games -- we love it all. Last weekend we sat down as a family to play Lord of the Rings Risk. It was great fun! I lost too many troops too fast and couldn't resupply my units, so I lost. (I'm the black orcs trying to defend this little corner of the North). Nonetheless, it was still a great game and we had tons of fun during a cold, rainy afternoon.
Now it's time for some Wordless Wednesday Fun!

DeleteSounds like an interesting and fun game. Thanks for hosting. I've never been good at games. When young my sisters drove me crazy wanting to play games all the time. Then my kids loved games and I did get more into them. Hubby and I play games sometimes now that we're retired, but I have to confess that he is very competitive and we sometimes end up at odds...but never stay mad about it. haha
ReplyDeletePeabea@Peabea Scribbles
I am not competitive at all. My husband and daughter sometimes get into the mood, but I just let them go. I just like playing, I think it is fun bonding time, especially with a longer game like Risk. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts! Have a great week!
DeleteRecently a hurricane past by our island and remained many months without electricity. It took love to the Board Games. My favorite was connect four.
ReplyDeleteConnect four is awesome. I hope you and yours are safe! Board games are perfect for times without electricity. We play a lot when we camp, though that is losing electricity by choice. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts! Have a great week!
DeleteI need to find this game to play with the grandcrew. I wonder if they make a Star Wars edition? Thanks for stopping by Driller's Place.
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of great games to play. I believe they do have a Star Wars edition of Risk. I think the game play is a little altered, but the overall strategy is similar. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!
DeleteMy husband and I often play a game of banagrams before sitting in front of the tv...it's a nice way to spend some time together...

DeleteAmanda,
ReplyDeleteWe loved playing board games with our kids growing up. Lord of the Rings would be one DD#2 would love since she's a huge fan J.R.R. Tolkien. Thanks for visiting & joining my WW linky party! ;)
It is a blast. You can even play with the ring moving along the board to Mordor. The entire time we played, I kept thinking, we have to read these books with Zoey, who is just getting interested in epic fantasy. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts! Have a great week!
DeleteThis looks like a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

ReplyDeleteOh yes, he would love it, we do! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week :)
DeleteWhat a fun game! I love Risk already. My grandsons are great board game players so this would be a natural for them.
ReplyDeleteIt is a fun one. I like how the Lord of the Rings map is laid out, it makes the board more balanced. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week :)
DeleteWhat a clever idea! The geography was one of the things that fascinated me about LOTR.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my WW this week.
I do like the Lord of the Rings version because they include optional rules that add in themes like following the ring, good vs evil and a couple more. We don't really play with them, but it's cool they are there. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week :)
DeleteI like very much Risk when i was child! Happy WW
ReplyDeleteI didn't start playing until I was older, at least in high school. I'm excited to share Risk with my daughter at a much younger age. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!
DeleteI used to play lots of board games too, but hubby doesn't like to play games so they went by the wayside. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥
There's still so many things to do together as a family! I also love that there are so many online adaptations now, so I can get my board game fix whenever I want ;)
DeleteThanks for stopping by! Have a great week!
